Well since my last update there have been some huge developments both on the back-end and the front-end of the CustomerStreet RapidSite Software.

The image handler has now been fully integrated into the page editor system along side a toolbar for updating pages and page types (i.e. defaults text and images or Google map pages). The image handler takes all images passed to it and creates two files, one for thumbnail images and one for the final output images, the image uploader is then automatically refreshed to show these changes. This is of course done using JavaScript but the form is fully functional when JavaScript is turned off, the only difference is that the forms appear at the foot of the page. It has been developed this way in order to ensure the system is accessible by everyone.

Another big change is the way the themes are handled, users now see a grid of around nine themes per row and when they hover over them they receive a larger preview of what the system would look like with that theme applied to it. When a user decides that they want a specific theme they just click on the image to set that particular theme. The theme selection process also allows the user to search for themes which match specific criteria, such as primary and secondary colour schemes, specific categories or a specific layout. At the top of the results system is a list of these filters which can be clicked to disable the filter, this re-runs the filter with the omitted criteria.

The above are just a samples of what has been developed within the Customer Street RapidSite software and it is now very close to being released to the internal testers.
