I have just been informed that I have to now keep this blog uptodate with how things are progressing with the development of the RapidSite software but first let me introduce myself.

My name is Matt and I am a recent addition to both the company and the RapidSite software team. I was brought on to the RapidSite software project to carry on where Stuart has left off which is by no means a simple task. Stuart has now left the company in order to pursue his own projects and we wish him the very best and success for the future.

Now the introductions are over with lets get on to the current status of the project in hand.
When I took over the project the majority of code was already in place, but a couple of sections still needed to be converted over to use the MVC framework. Converting these assisted me in learning how each section works and allowed me to quickly get to grip with the system.

The latest change I have implemented is to create the image uploader. This section is built into the editing side of the system and allows users to upload their own images to the server and then select images to drop into the page. This required me to work closly with Alex who is primarliy concentrating on the guifications around the system and together we have managed to finish the system off this morning.

Alex is also working on the usuability of the backend interface by making it more intuative for users to accomplish what they want in the least number of steps. The next task with regards this is to generate a page editing toolbar which will allow users to select the page template on the fly.

The design team has also started to learn CSS so they can create the actuall themes that will be available to customers from their designs.

So to sum up, things are progressing well with the core functionality almost in place. So the main things left to before we can release the Beta Version is to finish off the usability aspects, and test the entire system for bugs and errors. Once this has been done we should be able to release the beta version for further testing :)
